After breakfast, you will visit Phnom Penh including the Royal Palace complex. This palace dates from 1866 and was the last one built during the French colonial period. The same complex houses the Silver Pagoda, named for the over 5000 silver tiles that cover its floors. Its original name is Wat Prakeo, meaning Temple of the Emerald Buddha. In this temple you will see a collection of Buddhas in gold, silver, crystal, and bronze.
You continue to visit National Museum, built in 1917. Housed there are over 5,000 statues, lingas and others artifacts arranged according to pre- Angkor and post –Angkor periods of Cambodia history.
After that, you will visit Wat Phnom is situated near the northern boundary of the city. The original temple was built in 1372 by a rich Khmer lady named "Penh" who found a collection of statues of the Buddha washed up on the river bank and decided to house th em on a nearby hill "Phnom". The site contains some good examples of Khmer architecture and statues. Wat Phnom is frequented by the locals as a place of worship and a favorite weekend picnic spot.
In the afternoon, visit Toul Sleng (S-21). In the years before 1975, Toul Sleng was a high school in Phnom Penh, but when the Khmer Rouge came to power it was converted into the notorious prison known as S-21. During the Khmer Rouge regime, around 20,000 people were kept in prison here, and tortured to confess their ‘anti-revolutionary’ behavior. Some died under the torture and were buried in a shallow mass grave on the prison ground, but most prisoners were executed at the Killing Fields. Only 7 inmates survived the Toul Sleng prison.
Then explore Central Market (Phsar Thmey), this distinctive building is a city landmark and the busiest market in the city with a unique art deco version of a traditional market and the market constructed in 1935-1937, during the French colonial period, Phsar Thmey is currently just completed its renovation and become the central section of the main market building displays an amazing collection of gems, jewelry and souvenirs.

Accommodation in PHNOM PENH
Breakfast at hotel.
Situated 17 km from Phnom Penh city, Cheung Ek was made famous by the movie “The Killing Fields”. The seemingly peaceful stretch of green fields of Cheung Ek does not allude to the horrors that took place here. A large memorial commemorates the 17,0 00 men, women and children, who died here under the reign of Khmer Rouge leader, Pol Pot. The skulls and bones inside the memorial stupa and the mass graves that dot the area are a reminder of the terrible suffering that occurred here. This journey into Cambodia’s past will provide you with a background to the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge regime. Besides the tragic past, it will also give you an appreciation of the struggle that Cambodian people have faced and their tremendous courage to move on and rebuild their nation.
Continue to visit Russian Market (Phsar Tuol Thom Pong), a lively outdoor market where you will find antiquities, silver and gold jewelry, gems, silk, kramas, stone and wood carvings, as well as T-Shirts, CD's and other souvenirs.
Enjoy free time to explore Phnom Penh for the remainder of the day.
