1. Po Nagar Cham Towers

Perched on Cu Lao Hill overlooking the mouth of the Cai River, this remarkable red-brick temple complex was constructed by the Champa Kingdom between the 7th and 12th centuries. Dedicated to Yan Po Nagar, the goddess of the earth who taught agricultural and weaving skills to the local people, the site remains an active place of spiritual worship for both ethnic Cham and Vietnamese Buddhists today. The intricate, mortarless brickwork stands as a monument to ancient architectural engineering.

2. 2. Long Son Pagoda

Founded in the late 19th century, Long Son Pagoda is the most revered Buddhist site in the city. Ascending the 150 stone steps up the hillside brings visitors past a beautiful, large reclining Buddha, ultimately leading to the summit where a magnificent, 24-meter-tall white Gautama Buddha statue sits atop a lotus blossom, acting as a serene landmark visible from multiple points across the city skyline.

3. Christ the King Cathedral (Stone Church)

Constructed entirely out of simple hollow concrete blocks by French priest Louis Vallet between 1928 and 1933, this imposing Neo-Gothic church occupies a prominent hilltop near the central railway station. It features striking stained-glass windows, soaring stone vaults, and an elegant square bell tower containing historic bronze bells cast in France.

• Hon Mun Marine Protected Area: Regarded as the premier diving location in Vietnam, Hon Mun (Ebony Island) features a vibrant habitat home to over 350 species of hard and soft coral and thousands of tropical reef fish. The island serves as an eco-conscious base for both certified scuba diving and underwater sea-walking experiences.
• The Institute of Oceanography: Established by the French in 1923, this historic facility is one of the oldest marine scientific institutions in Indochina. It houses a vast research repository containing over 20,000 marine specimens collected over the past century, alongside live exhibits of reef sharks and an incredible, full-scale 18-meter-long humpback whale skeleton.
